Things for Thursday: weather, hobby, movie, politics

The weather lady kept saying this morning, "It will be extremely cold out today - in the 40s." If the 40s are extremely cold, what will she say when it is in the single digits in January? I thought it was quite nice when I walked outside this morning.

I am trying to learn a new hobby. I can't say what the hobby is, however, because I hope to make some Christmas present with the new hobby. So, if you know what I am trying to learn and know how to do it, let me know. If you think I may be making the Christmas present for you, don't even ask what the hobby is that I am trying to learn, because I may not be able to learn it in time for Christmas.

Are you wondering why I even brought this up?

It is rare that I actually laugh out loud during a movie. Last night, Hubs and I watched "Get Smart." I watched this show on a regular basis as a kid and was looking forward to seeing the movie. I was not disappointed. We both laughed out loud during the movie! There are similarities between this movie and the old TV show, but it isn't exactly the same. However, I think you will like this good, clean, fun movie. Now I might have to rent some of the old shows for fun.

The elections are over and you all know the did not turn out how I hoped. Am I mad? No. Upset? No. Scared? Not really.

It is such a privilege to live somewhere in which we have a say in who our leaders will be. I had my say; as did the rest of America. My hope is not built on the President, in Congress; not even in this country. My hope is built on Christ and God remains on His throne.

Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.
Romans 13:1-3

nice work sister. A few thoughts...

1. You're not making me a present, and I have no idea what your hobby might be, but maybe I know how to do it?! hmmm
2. Excellent movie review...never heard of it or the tv show...sorry (I grew up in Oakland) but I will add it to the list to see since I also like to laugh. =)
3. Politics schmolitics. I followed and tried to get into it this year, and I vote and don't get my pick, along with the 3 ammendments of Mich, all the opposite of what I voted for. LAME. Guess I'm bad luck. haha

SPRING! We will pencil you in. You'll be lucky if your room isn't booked yet. hahaha just kidding. We can't wait for you to come!!
